The islands and the countries which are developed or not are directly face for the desertification, global warming and food crisis. Some Especially people who live in islands such as Mol dive Islands, Caribbean Islands and Sri Lanka and so on, because the level of the sea is increasing day by day and one day such counties will be destroyed and as a result of that those countries would be wiped out from the world map and other countries face that also. If can be given some solution for the problem of desertification and the global warming, and food crisis, to the people which mentioned above
And also all other it will be help for them. To avoid those phenomena it is Possible to identify the better way to handle this problem. One way to handle this problem should protect our lands and trees. For that simple and easiest solution is cultivation. But it is not an easy task day by day the climate and the lands are changing rapidly.
There are lots of conditions that directly effect to the cultivations and also each and every condition are relate to each other if some conditions such as land, seeds, fertilizer, man power and so on, are not well manner it will be really problem to the cultivation. Those valuable conditions Land is the most important one condition for cultivations. Although the land is one condition that are directly effect to cultivation, but the lands for cultivations are not practicable. Because lot of problem.
It is not practicable to cultivate everywhere, because most of the lands are covered by water in much form such as Oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, glassier and so on. Therefore the percentage of the lands is very limited. So that it is very important to manage the lands.
When considering the areas that are basically covered by water. Although the lands are very limited it is not possible to use all the lands but cultivation is not practicable for all of lands which some are deserts, beach, rock areas, and hill areas and so on? Some lands are poor for cultivation which has not enough minerals; water and necessary assert for cultivation or even grow at any type of plantation. Those extra necessary things are really effect to the cultivations. Otherwise it is not possible for exactly good cultivation. It is not easy task to discover proper land for cultivation because lands Are change due to lot of unpredictable reasons such as natural disasters such as TSUNAMI, Hurricane, Landslides, explosion of volcanoes and so on and lot of human activities which are directly effect to the cultivation.
There for Identify the proper lands for cultivation are the one of major problem because most of the things such happen naturally or the action have being done by human beings are directly or indirectly effect to cultivations.
To success that the problem can be use information technology because using information technology can be given better solution for any type of problems that human beings are facing today. And also by the help of the remote sensing technology and other related technology can be identify how the lands are change due to weather and unpredictable reasons such as natural disasters and human activities. By taking the valuable data of the selected area from the remote sensing technology and by the help of the satellite images of particular lands that selected, can be compared the past images of the lands that selected and the percent images of the lands that selected. After comparing those two types of images can be taken some types of information. Comparing images can be take idea how the lands change during the past period. How the lands are changeover different type of conditions? By identifying how lands are change it will be help to do future task also.
Satellite images are freely available many of originations and some government are provided satellite images as a service therefore easily can be taken whatever satellite images of the lands which are selected for research for cultivation.
As a new project, satellite which are placed at Padukka in Sri Lanka, for research and get necessary information such as weather, other information and so on, will be launched by the Sri Lankan Government there for to obtain satellite images not hard effect.
To compare old lands location images of particular selected areas and the present images of that area can be use digital image processing technology. Digital image processing is one of the major technology uses to do lot of application with the images. There for easily can identify how the lands are changed due to lot of reasons after comparing those images and able get border idea about lands and can provide some prediction how will be the those lands change in future.
In here by using the digital image processing it is easy to identify the different between the old images of the lands that are selected and the percent images of the lands that are selected. After that can be identify what is the suitable crop for that area. Because the lands are the major condition which effect directly to crops. Most of crop is not suitable for some lands. Therefore by considering that information can be identifying what are the suitable crops for the lands. Therefore after identifying suitable crops can be cultivate them in the lands the selected and able to take a good result. And also it will be little bit of help to reduce or control the desertification and global warming.
After all of those comparing can store all those valuable data in a repository for future use. Data that store in a digital repository will be help to the people who are going to research on those areas such student and scientist. And also using these data they can Improve their research and whatever thing in future.
